A promotional spot created and copyright registered by ME for MY purposes of promoting MY sponsor was used by RadioX WITHOUT LICENSE (illegally) in order to collect money from MY former sponsor after they had cancelled my show. While they certainly have the right to sell promo time to anyone they choose, they certainly HAVE NO RIGHT TO PROFIT FROM MY WORK without my permission, nor without compensating me!!!

TRUE STORY
Scotty Hart (Scott Hartil) of RadioX over the course of this past has summer stolen sales meetings from me, as well as tag-lines for his promos. He has also sent me and others out as sales reps for his station, all the while taking incoming sales leads for himself and selling promo time on RadioX for MUCH LESS than his sales people – thereby completely under-cutting his own sales team, discreditting and robbing his own people.

WHEN TAKING SUBCULTURE radio off the air – Scotty Hart had the nerve to SPITEFULLY steal the SUBCULTURE radio tag-line “Welcome To the Underground” and use it as his own in his new RadioX promo commercial spot. Not only does this make NO sense, as SUBCULTURE radio was the only show on his station dedicated to underground music – but it also is just a prime example of
1.) how little Scotty Hart ‘gets it’
2.) what an unoriginal, talentless hack he is and
3.) what a SHADY, SCUMBAG OF A THIEF Scotty Hart is!

how about by advertising with radio x we have no interest in the station but more an interest to promote ourselves. i couldnt agree more that radiox has turned into wbli for teeny rock bands but as a buisness there really isnt much of a choice aside from stations that pump 70’s rock. by the way your show rocked and weve reverted to cds in the shop again

We are diehard fans of the loaded shows and are hardcore and metal fans and cant stand the same old crap on the radio and radio x brought something new to the table that people can listen to and not hear the same songs over and over. just to clear up the small amount of your postings that make any kind of coherent sense, though still may not be completely correct:

1.) my show was on before LOADED at first, but only for a short while before we switched time slots. (i also liked LOADED, for what it’s worth to you)

2.) MY SHOW PLAYED HARDCORE, METAL, industrial, ebm, goth, hardcore techno and more – but my point here is, as far as “hardcore and metal” go, i do believe i played heavier and harder stuff than LOADED generally played. (for what that’s worth to you)

3.) DO NOT MISTAKE MY INTENTIONS! though i do mention Scotty’s choice to can my show as an act of CENSORSHIP in my blog post about all of his shady business dealings, if you read my blog post regarding the cancellation of SUBCULTURE specifically, you will see that it truely was a bit of a relief for me that i wouldn’t have to deal with such a confused, incompetent and shady person anymore. i WISH Scotty would have left it at that and we could have parted ways liked civilized human beings. instead, he decided to steal my tag line and slap it on a new promo for his station. he stole my production work and sold it for profit. this was all done by him for nothing short of a childish pissing contest. vengeance, in his small mind and small world of low power local radio (a world i never cared about and still don’t). these are not things that a good and decent business would be supporting with their advertising dollars.

i got involved with the station through someone who’s word i trusted and whom vouched for Scotty, but in every passing day Scotty only proved his true colors, increasingly straining our relationship both through his shady underhandedness as well as his basic lack of business sense. Our relationship was on a consistant decline from day one. this is not about my show being cancelled. again, i was relieved when it happened.

read my blogs carefully and understand what it is that you are in fact supporting. then again, it seems by your sudden change of mind and exact ‘mission statement on your support of radio-x’ that perhaps your more recent post was somehow prompted by Scotty. the idea of him calling up a third party to complain about the consequences of his own actions – it does stink of his whiny M.O. either way, you shouldn’t sweat it too much since (by my estimation) radio-x won’t exist by this time next year. when they’re dead and gone are you going to be proud of your contributions? will you still stand behind their business practices? if so, what does that say about you and your business?

for what it’s worth, i like your bikes. your shop clearly makes it’s own mark in design. very creative and unique.

though, i personally would never buy from someone who can so easily gloss over unfair and illegal business practices of an associate just for their own personal gain. once you have been informed of what your dollars are supporting – you are just as guilty.

Here’s a reality note for all concerned..

After a long and bloody three year MX battle, I recently received my
construction permit for Ridge, Long Island, NY. Calls are WLIX-LP (why I
bothered getting them, but more on that). You could imagine my excitement
when I received the permit. I felt I did it!! I finally got a piece of the
spectrum.. Well……. things don’t always turn out as planned.

The argument here regarding proximity issues of a co-channel is going to
silence my dream before it got off the ground! Yes thousands of dollars
lost, WLIX is going Dark, what a deal…….!

My frequency is 94.7, and I share it with Family Radio’s 37,200 watt
religious goliath WFME Newark. Their signal is amazing at the least.. if
not impossible. I am hesitant to say TOO amazing. They have a transmitting
antenna at 570 feet (Mount Olympus or Calgary I presume). No Arbitron
ratings for the New York metro as a side note..

My current location is permitted to transmit at a height of 46 feet (approx)
above ground. Might as well stick the antenna in a basement. For the
tests, I was running about 290 watts into a 120′ length of Belden 9913
(1.3db loss at 100′). The antenna is a Shively 6812 B-1 circular bay
(.46db). Between the run of cable and single bay power split, I figured
right around 100-105 watts ERP.

The signal (or should I say what signal?). I ran 100% modulated audio into
a mono signal for the tests. Depending on what power WFME was running for
the day (more on that), I had a clean signal free of any noise for about 1.5
miles. Yes one and a half miles.. When WFME has its miraculous power
increases, I was destroyed within 1/2 mile. As a general rule, I was more
of a jamming station than broadcast facility.

Today just for fun, I turned the station on with a dead carrier in stereo
and took a drive during WFME’s morning show. What a mess. The stereo
carrier of my signal chopped up WFME for a good 8 mile radius. Lots of
hissssss.

But let’s face it, I didn’t go through this effort to be a religious jamming
facility. All I wanted was a little station that could carry 4 miles
clearly. After that, I didn’t care. Even my friends around the country
such as WFJV, thought that wouldn’t be a problem. My expectations were
minimal and so were the LPFM results in the end.

As for my feelings that WFME is up to something.. WFME’s signal mv’s do
seem to climb consistently EVERY evening. No trops or ducting last night,
yet here they came squashing what little signal I had earlier in the day. I
feel like Davy battling Goliath, and this time the meek is being swallowed
whole! I can’t even contact WFME’s engineer to question him about the
interesting power fluctuations, because the only number I’ve found thus far
is “Family Radio” corporate USA in California!

Well, “that’s my story it’s sad but true”. No silver lining to this one.
In my case LPFM was a complete and utter failure!! I have spoken to the
folks at WLNY-TV 55 about moving my site to their tower location some 2.4
kilometers to the north, but all that will do is shift the noise around.
The FCC’s John Grizzle informed me that the move would be allowed in my case
as a minor mod, as long as the frequency fits, and it does. But again why
bother.

WFME’s 54DBU contour ends on the Nassau / Suffolk county border which is 35
air miles from me. WFME’s tower is about 90 air miles from me. On paper
looks like not a problem, but just come to Ridge, NY and listen! The 100mv
signal for WFME ends about 4 miles west of me. (The reason I thought 4 miles
was feasible) My location is supposedly lower than that, but just convince
WFME or the FCC of that. They are just as strong and in some cases stronger
than the New York stations off the Empire State Building. I’d never try to
go over 95.5 WPLJ but WFME is stronger! Z100?? WFME is stronger!!! God
must really be backing this one.

Sorry if I seem a little flustered, but this wasn’t supposed to be like
this. I honestly feel like I wasted 4 years for nothing. As a funny side
note, there is a pirate broadcaster about 8 miles to my southwest in East
Patchogue that I receive pretty good on my adjacent channel 94.9 (which is
empty). He runs 6 watts at 20 feet! Kinda tells you what a real frequency
can do. Another pirate on my other adjacent out of Riverhead at 94.5 (also
empty), I receive weak but audible. He’s about 10 miles away and running 10
watts at 20 feet. I know this info because they are brazen enough to have
web sites with all their specs!

Anyway, this just kinda puts into perspective of what I’m dealing with (or
not going to deal with anymore). Having a main channel that goes a mile and
a half on a good day, while pumping out 100 watts erp, vs a couple of
pirates picking the right frequencies and covering about 4 times my area
with 1/10th my power. Strange world..

Finally, the sad and very difficult question.. How do I request a
cancellation of the CP? Should I inform the FCC of why I’m doing this so
they understand that this is not what I wanted, but I was left no option.
And when another window opens, does the opportunity of getting additional
LPFM’s still afford itself to me at another location.

The first 2 years of college (at a 4 year university) are the hard ones.
I transfered to St.Mary’s in my Junior year, saving me that and
saving my dad lots of $ since my freshman and sophomore years were free (at the local junoir college)

a tip for you: when possible, “audit the classes you wish to take before you sign up”
audit = go sit in and listen to the teacher lecture in class.
if they put you to sleep, choose another one!
